Francesco Annesanti says that his soul is in his wine. Francesco naturally farms and vinifies in a minimalist manner by himself; he hand bottles, labels and waxes the bottle tops himself. He personally designed all of his labels and even made the desk that he uses.
Francesco’s Cantina is in an off the beaten path, rural part of Umbria, where vines are not typically planted. He is a true artist, creating harmonious expressions of old vine Trebbiano Spoletino, Malvasia and Grechetto, alongside non-indigenous varieties such as Pinot Noir and Merlot. His rarest wines are fermented in terra cotta amphora and aged in glass demijohn; with bottle counts numbering in the hundreds each vintage.
2018 Suppriscola – 100% Barbera fermented and aged in stainless steel, bottled without fining, filtration or added sulfites, during clear skies and a waning moon. Suppriscola is a broad ample wine that is dangerously drinkable. The inherent juiciness and intense fruit of Barbera is on full display.
