10/25 Wine Class: France
Thursday October 25, 6:30-8:30pm
Perhaps no other country is so strongly associated with wine as France. So much of the language of wine is French — terroir, brut, barrique, sommelier — as well as the most prestigious regions and grapes in the world. Perhaps no other country characterizes the extremes of the wine market so well: from wines that cost tens of thousands of dollars per bottle to wine as cheap as water; from globalized to utterly local; from perfectly tuned and predictable to entirely wild, French wine has it all. We'll try to wrap our minds and taste buds around all that in a tour of French wine in 12 bottles.
This overview-level class is a great way to learn the basics of wine. Small bites for pairing will be provided, but we welcome you to stop by our cheese counter beforehand if you would like a more substantial snack.
