Here is what's included in the "#3 pack":
La Segreta 'Freghino' Sangiovese
Lorenzo and his wife Eileen are in the heart of Umbria, right outside of Perugia, producing reds that are unmistakably Italian. Rustic, earthy, woodsy cherry, Lorenzo achieves exactly what you'd hope for in this young Sangiovese. After leading biking trips throughout Italy, this couple invested in a farmhouse and ultimately became self-taught natural winemakers in 2012, now producing a few thousand bottles of their youngest wine, Freghino, meaning little rascal in dialect.
Negro Lorenzo 'Prachiosso' Nebbiolo
Within the Roero, young producers like Lorenzo are attempting to promote their specific hillsides as important denominations and growing areas. Lorenzo's fruit from this wine comes from his hillside named Prachiosso, a beautiful slope that has a mix of clay and sand that really allows for a balanced Nebbiolo. His zone tends to have Nebbiolo that are a bit softer and less harsh, easier to drink than a young Barolo, and you will notice beautiful notes of violet, raspberry, round cherry, and some tobacco.
Cantine Gulino 'Pretiosa' Albanello
Sebastiano Gulino is responsible for the only 100% Albanello, a local grape to southeastern Sicily. For a number of reasons, the once well respected Albanello was uprooted and switched out for other grapes or for vegetable farming. Having had a family farm since the late 1600s, Sebastiano was eager to reintroduce Albanello back into the zone, so he found some surviving vines and replanted the grape. Now you have a tropical, mineral, fascinating white that works so well with locally caught swordfish, if you have a chance to throw a fish steak on the grill!
Terrasol Tracce Nero d'Avola
This Nero d’Avola is made by a father and son team who make wine out of a glorified garage. This is one of my favorite expressions of the grape as it sees no oak and is all about drinkability. It is a great everyday wine for those looking for something with a bit of structure.
Edoardo Patrone PSB-
PSB is a field blend of 14 different grapes from the north of Piedmont, right next to the Swiss border. This is a brand new project from 29 year old Edoardo Patrone. Edoardo’s mission is to maintain many 50-100 year old micro-vineyards which risk being otherwise abandoned. In these vineyards you find a collection of the grapes of piedmont from Nebbiolo to Freisa and this wine is a collection of all those together!
Pinot Bianco is the house wine at Glassier because of its drinkability and ability to please all palates. I am particularly fond of the 2018 which is rich and juicy while remaining fresh and clean. This is a perfect white as we transition into spring
